Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead opens Friday, April 1

Overland Park, KS - Friday's current weather forecast indicates it's a good time to visit the Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead on opening day.
"We are excited for opening day," said Virgil Miles, superintendent of the Farmstead. "Preparations continue and lots of baby goats are looking for that special attention Farmstead visitors offer."
Attendance in 2015 reached a new high with 477,455 visitors. People came from 17 countries and almost every state in the United States.
"Over 200 animals make the Farmstead their home during the season. Baby pygmy goats are available for visitors to interact with," Miles said.
Admission to the Farmstead is $2 per person from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday; free from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Admission Friday through Sunday is $2 per person. Children under the age of 2 are free.
Take a step back in time as you experience the Farmstead. This 1900s replica farm and town is a great place to make family memories. Visitors can see cows, goats, sheep, pigs, ponies, chickens, geese, ducks, a longhorn cow, bobcats and more.
There are numerous one- and two-day special events throughout the season. The Farmstead is a great place for a child's birthday party.
