Injury Crash Investigation near W 67th and Marty

On Friday, February 5^th, 2016, around 3:00 PM the Overland Park Police Department responded to an injury collision near the intersection of W 67^th Street and Marty Street. Witnesses advised a passenger vehicle had collided with a tree and caught fire after the collision. Due to the vehicle damage, the driver was trapped inside the vehicle.

When first responders arrived, the driver was extricated from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The Overland Park Police Traffic Safety Unit continues to investigate this collision, but believe speed played a factor.
