First crews arrived to smoke and fire showing from a two-story, single family home. Firefighters went to work immediately attacking the fire and searching the home to confirm that no one was inside. The fire, which appears to have started in the basement, had burned through the first floor of the home.
Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in about 25 minutes. Crews were able to save the animals from various parts of the home and reunite them with their owner, who returned home midway through the incident. No injuries were reported. A nearby family will assist the resident and her pets who are displaced.
The home suffered significant interior fire and smoke damage. The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
