Arrest Made in Double Homicide Case

On the afternoon of July 13, detectives with the Overland Park Police Department arrested 18 year-old Donnell Cortez Preston (BM 6/9/97) in connection to the June 30 shooting deaths of 18 year-old Velik L. Henderson and 19 year-old Trevon D. Anderson.

Mr. Preston is being held on a Johnson County warrant for First Degree Murder with a bond of $2,000,000.

This case is still under investigation and no further information will be released at this time. Any additional inquiries should be directed to the Johnson County District Attorney’s office.
