Enjoy free music performances in OP

Each Sunday at 7 p.m. through Aug. 9 at Santa Fe Commons Park, 8045 Santa Fe Drive in Downtown Overland Park, you can listen to local artists for free as part of the city's Music in the Parksummer series.
Close out your weekend sitting underneath a canopy of trees, enjoying a Kansas sunset while listening to performances by members of the Overland Park Civic Band, which plays each Sunday through July 5, followed each Sunday by other performers including Heart of America Barbershop Chorus, 51% Blues Band, Moats Brothers Band, KC Dixieland Band and KC Rain Dogs.
At this year's Star Spangled Spectacular, July 4 (rain date July 5), free music begins at 5:45 p.m. The Fourth of July fireworks begin at about 9:40 p.m. The Spectacular takes place in Corporate Woods.
Be sure to bring a chair or blanket to either event. Relax and enjoy your Overland Park experience.
