Signs for you

In case you have not noticed, it's campaign season.
A telltale sign might be, well, the ubiquitous presence of political campaign signs.
In front of homes, businesses, street corners, nearly everywhere you look, there's a sign.
Overland Park has requirements for the placement of any signs, including political signs.
Foremost is that any sign placed at a location is done with the permission of a property owner.
Three signs per property or adjacent to a lot between a sidewalk and street are permitted. Signs may not be more than 32 square feet in size in commercial areas; three square feet in residential developments.
Signs are not allowed in street medians, highway interchanges, in city parks or city facilities. Signs may not be attached to utility poles, traffic signs, traffic signals, trees, benches or public buildings.
If you have questions about sign placement, contact the Community Services Division at 913-895-6270.
If you have questions about advance voting or polling places, contact the Johnson County Election Office.
