Storm sewer reconstruction forces closing of 95th Street at Antioch

Overland Park, KS - A major east and westbound roadway will close for about 36 hours starting Friday morning.
Decades old underground metal storm sewer lines that cross 95th Street will be replaced beginning at 9 a.m. Friday forcing the complete closure of the four-lane thoroughfare.
95th Street, immediately east of Antioch, will be closed. The intersection of 95th Street and Antioch will remain open.
Work is expected to be complete by 5 p.m. Saturday and 95th Street reopened to traffic.
The work is part of resurfacing 95th Street from Antioch east to Lowell.
Traffic to Oak Park Mall, Valley View shopping center, Hy Vee and other nearby destinations will be impacted.
Motorists will be detoured.
Eastbound traffic will go south on Antioch to 103rd Street, then east to Metcalf and north to 95th Street. Westbound traffic will be detoured south on Metcalf to 103rd Street to Antioch, then north to 95th Street.
Construction work is dependent upon weather conditions.
