On April 19th, 2014, around 10:00 pm, an officer was in the area of W. 157th Street and Metcalf Avenue when he heard a call come out regarding a shoplifter running from loss prevention at a nearby retail store.

The officer arrived on scene and located the female suspect who was getting ready to leave the parking lot in a two-tone light green over tan Mercury Villager. The officer was able to get the driver to stop, but as he was approaching the vehicle, the driver put the vehicle in reverse and almost hit the officer as she left the area.

The tag on the vehicle came back registered to a previous owner who had sold the van to the suspect a few months ago but was unable to provide information on the buyer.

The attached photos show the unidentified female from inside the store and a picture of the van she was driving that night.

Anyone with information on this person’s identity is asked to contact the TIPS HOTLINE at 816-474-TIPS or the Overland Park Police at 913-344-8750.
